How can I make an appointment with Dr Mir and when will I be seen?

What can I expect at the first appointment?

Dr Mir will ask you about your difficulties and how these impact upon you. He may also ask you to complete some questionnaires assessing your mood which may further assist in identifying suitable treatment options.

Dr Mir will provide you with a formulation of your difficulties (an understanding of how the difficulty started and how it maybe resolved). Depending on the psychological difficulties discussed the assessment could take between 1 to 4 sessions.

How long are the appointments?

The appointments tend to last for one hour.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of psychology sessions and type of psychological therapy will depend upon the assessment and could be short term (4-6 sessions) medium term (6-14 sessions) or longer term (14 plus sessions). This information would be shared by Dr Mir after the assessment stage.

How much are the therapy sessions and how do I pay for sessions?

Please contact Dr Mir regarding his fees. Dr Mir accepts cash or cheques at the start of each session.  If your medical insurance company or someone else is funding your treatment they will be invoiced or treatment.

What is a Clinical Psychologist?

A Clinical Psychologist is a mental health care professional who has undergone doctoral training and is a specialist in the assessment and treatment of psychological difficulties. They are unable to prescribe psychotropic medication which a Psychiatrist or GP can offer.
